Development and Humanitarian Services for Afghanistan (DHSA) established in 1992, the mission of DHSA is to redefine development in Afghanistan by promoting a dynamic and capable civil society as a means to foster local ownership of development, dignity and a peaceful & sustainable future for all Afghans.

Throughout the 1990’s, DHSA focused primarily on drawing strength from local knowledge and traditional relationships to fill gaps, caused by a weak national government and absence of public services. During this time, DHSA focused on activities such as water sanitation and irrigation, education, food assistance to drought affected populations, and rural rehabilitation, matching local know-how with the financial and political support from international aid agencies and donors such as EC, USAID, WFP, WHO, the UN, Canada fund/Care International and Novib.

The political changes brought by the Bonn Agreement in 2001 allowed DHSA to add development of civil society in Afghanistan – through its media, education and various community development projects – to its portfolio, in addition to humanitarian assistance.

To achieve its mission, DHSA presently operates five activities:

• Humanitarian Activities
• Public Media and Communication (TKG),
• Education
• Cultural Heritage
• Environmental Protection

• Assists struggling students to improve their literacy skills and numeracy skills specially women business groups on district level
• Collaborates with teachers in relevant department of donor and education  to promote the learning and implementation of best practices in literacy and numeracy  instructions
• Helps lead school-wide efforts to improve literacy and numeracy guidelines.
• Creates and examines data to measure the success of literacy and numeracy programs as per the project SoW.
• Develop and design training plan for literacy and numeracy trainings of xxx women groups living in in the nearby district of Kabul with already established VSLA groups.
• Contribute in development of training Materials and curriculum.
• Develop pre and post assessment of the trainees.
• Manage the attendance record of the trainees,
• Maintain the training class and its equipment’s and observes the trainees capacity during and after the training.
• Provide Literacy and Numeracy trainings to target groups of 5 VSLAs group in the nearby Districts of Kabul.
• Any other additional task given by his/her supervisor

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in education or social science.

Experience:

• At least 3-5 years of experience working on education field and trainings and awareness session and workshops.

Technical Skills:

• Be able to design lesson plan and other must have other essential skills of teaching specially with female adult students
• The trainers shall be highly team-compatible and eager to learn.
•  Experiences in participatory approaches and adult learning method would be an asset.
• The trainers shall be willing to participate in a training of trainers program that strengthens the participatory abilities of the instructors becoming a fully-fledged facilitator.
• The trainers shall speak Pashtu and Dari as a mother-tongue and the fluency for English communication is desirable.
• Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
• Good presentation and facilitation skills.
