The objective of the Strong Hubs for Afghan Hope and Resilience (SHAHAR) Program is to create well-governed, fiscally sustainable Afghan municipalities capable of meeting the needs of a growing urban population. Targeted support to 20 provincial municipalities across Afghanistan, as well as the General Directorate of Municipal Affairs (GDMA) and Municipal Advisory Boards (MABs), will lead to improved municipal financial management, urban service delivery, and citizen consultation.
This internship Program represents an exciting opportunity for interns to gain experience with official environment, learn organizational behavior, have basic practical learnings in their educational related filed and gain experience working on an international development project.
The Intern will provide support to the DAI SHAHAR Project Staff, by performing a variety of tasks. Throughout the internship, the Intern will gain exposure to DAI and USAID methods for capacity building, project management, and economic development programs.
Duties and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in data entry into Afghan Info website
Assist in SHAHAR M&E filling system (Soft and Hard)
Maintain and bring the required changes to SHAHAR online M&E database when required.
Assist SHAHAR M&E Staff to verify completion of all requisite monitoring documents for activities closeout.
Provide assistance to SHAHAR M&E Manager in the preparation and presentation of reports on the progress and impact of program activities.
Recently completed or currently enrolled in a university graduate or undergraduate program in Economics, law, Political Science, public or business administration, or other relevant academic discipline.
Oral and written fluency in Dari and English.
