Our Solutions Engineers possess the highest levels of both business and technical acumen - understanding customer business drivers; matching those to TDCA’s technology, and clearly articulating complex solutions to existing and prospective customers.The Solution Engineer is fully accountable for delivering all aspects of the Commercial Business Plans and Objectives, as approved by the Senior Management Team (SMT). In developing the plans, the role consults with SMT and other stakeholders to ensure the plans take into account the needs of TDCA. This means acting as the subject matter expert for new solution development, identifying new market opportunities, determining the optimal pricing to balance profit with customer/client satisfaction, and directing marketing operations.
The ideal person needs to be a solutions focused, team oriented person who has the drive to meet objectives on time and make sound and well-reasoned judgments to solve complex problems.
As a Solutions Engineer (SE) you will be adept at defining solutions that meet the business and technical requirements of existing and prospective TDCA customers. An SE is self-directed, capable of leading technical sales activities, managing the customer technical relationship, and assuming subject matter expert responsibilities within TDCA. It is important to keep in mind, too, that this is high-pressure roles where deadlines and bottom lines are the measure of success and heavy burdens of responsibility are the norm.
The role provides advice and strategy recommendations and works with Directors and Functional managers to implement agreed strategies to deliver quality programs
The role is accountable for the development and implementation of Commercial programs, projects, policies, procedures and work practices. The role oversees numerous projects and broad programs.
The role will also be required to support development of proposals for new projects and recommends project plans and resources for Commercial Operations endeavours.
Subject Matter Expert resource for sales, partners and clients.
Development of customer proposals, design and delivery, ensuring all expertise, information and recommendations are concisely defined, while meeting TDCA’s quality control standards
Compliance with pre-sales processes, including account activity tracking to drive business analysis and reporting
To lead the technical assessment, planning and design of IP & Security solutions in a consistent way with the department product catalogue, strategy and architecture
Capturing customer/business requirements and analyzing those requirements from a technical feasibility point of view
Leading and managing virtual technology teams, managing different stakeholders from business, technology, operators during solution design and implementation phases.
Act as the main technical representative of the project team and competence area to all stakeholders, including the customer and Technology management.
Support the post sales issue to resolution process working with Technical and other internal teams to achieve customer SLAs and satisfaction
Work with Technology to monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability, monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning, perform Level 1/2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues as required
Configuring backend billing, monitoring systems, routers, switches, wireless links, CPEs and access points
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure and customer sites
Develop and maintain industry knowledge and networks, and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve both short and long term goals; to identify industry/business developments, opportunities and challenges; and to advise on innovative and cost effective solution options.
Provide a roadmap and implementation plans for solutions
Ability to travel, both domestic and international.
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications / Computer Science / IT or Cisco CCIE Certification and/or other advance level industry certifications.
3 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree in Telecommunications / Computer Science / IT or Cisco CCIE Certification and/or other advance level industry certifications.
CCIE Certified is preferred
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
5+ years of relevant industry experience in transmission/IP networks/ISP microwave and fiber optic technology
2 + years of experience in technical engineering design and development role delivering technical products or services
Cisco CCIE Certification and/or other advance level industry certifications.
Proven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.
Proven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
Working knowledge of:
Wireless equipment from different providers UBNT,MIKROTIK, Altai, Cambium, Infinity etc.. for both indoor and outdoor ISP connectivity
Installation and configuration of PTP & PTMP infrastructure
Monitoring systems like PRTG
SNMP protocols and integration
TCP/IP networking configuration and troubleshooting at all layers, routing protocols, messaging systems, security technology and Internet core systems
Internet Routing, DNS, Web hosting: configuration and troubleshooting
Configuration knowledge for different requirements including filtering bandwidth controller failover, load balancing, redundancy architecture, hotspots, DHCP, BGP, IPV4 and sub-netting, IPV6, firewalls, IP security, VPN, routers, switches, QOS
Hotspots infrastructure and the Radius authentication
Design and configuration of firewalls, security, VPN
Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience.
Testing tools and procedures for ISP networks.
Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
