The Afghan Women Skills Development Center (AWSDC) founded in 1999 is a national non-governmental organisation (NGO), dedicated to the promotion and protection of the rights of women in Afghanistan and supporting Afghans to live in peace. After the fall of the Taliban regime in late 2001, AWSDC relocated to Afghanistan, continuing to work for the economic empowerment of Afghan women, while also promoting women’s rights more generally, with a particular emphasis on raising women’s participation in all walks of life, social, economic and political. As of 2012 the organization added Peacebuilding program into its strategic objective.
As per AWSDC 2020 organization Plan the organization has undertaking GBV project which will be implemented in Kunduz City. Part of the activities are establish mobile team to reach out to GBV victims and survivor and to mobilize communities to reduce violence against women and girls and to facilitate and psychosocial counsel including case management and case referral management including health, protection, and Child protection. AWSDC is looking for competent Mobile Team Leader for GBV with proven experience in managing and leading GBV mobile team in Kunduz city and the nearby communities with where security allows. The team leader will be managing the day to day activities of legal advisor, community social mobilizer, and psychosocial counselor. The team leader will be the overall responsible outputs of the project for set out for mobile team. The team leader will be reporting to GBV Project Manager.
Summary of the Position
AWSDC is will be implementing Sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) survivors project in Kunduz, particularly in the Center of Kunduz and with access to nearby communities and with possible extension into other districts, in partnership with existing community structures. The project aims to strengthen the legal, health-related and psycho-social services for survivors of SGBV.
The position will be based in Kunduz City or nearby communities of Kunduz city with possible travel to other secured districts and communities closer to Kunduz City. The position holder will be responsible for;
This position is responsible for providing legal counseling and support to survivors of gender-based violence in the Kunduz city and the nearby accessible communities, as well as host communities if required. This position reports to the GBV Mobile Team Leader and works in close collaboration with the psychosocial and outreach social mobilizers. The position is based in the assigned mobile team who will be working as outreach team in Kunduz city and the nearby communities where security allows the interventions and accessibility to the communities.
