Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide awareness and basic life-saving messages as well as health and reproductive health sessions to women and girls, pregnant and married females at the Women and Girls Safe Spaces
Conduct regular meetings with the community focal points, for sharing information, discussing relevant health issues and weekly activity plans for health messaging in the communities.
Ensure health basic information and IEC materials are utilized during awareness sessions.
With support from Protection Officers, establish health referrals with community level health clinics and raise awareness on referrals.
When need arises step in and support the Psychosocial councilor during group sessions and individual counselling sessions in absence of Psychosocial councilor
Sensitize communities and raise awareness to female community members during campaigns and advocate for reproductive health rights as well as women and girls protection issues.
Identify key risk concerns for women and girls in the community and share with Protection Officer.
Participate in capacity building trainings
Draft weekly and monthly reports as requested by Protection Officer.
Job Requirements:
Graduated from registered midwifery/ nursing school or relevant educational institutions.
Minimum 2 years of experience working with government and/or NGOs in health care provision, psychosocial counselling or GBV programs, community-based programs in the fragile environment/region.
Good coordination and proven communication and facilitation skills.
Personal qualities: Works well in big teams and promotes teamwork, empathetic and shows commitment to prevent Gender-Based Violence
Written and spoken English is a plus.
