Job Description:

Scope and General Purpose of Job: 

Job Summary: 

To process all of the phases of the Automatic Night Audit Process for all of the days sales throughout the hotel.

Job Requirements:

Main duties and Responsibilities:

  • To audit charges to City Ledger and credit card companies before forwarding them to the Assistant Financial Controller.
  • To operate the computer with its automatic Night Audit system and to produce balanced daily results.
  • To verify the accuracy of data by auditing preliminary reports and by making corrections before totals are finalized.
  • To be familiar with the handling of cashiering functions in order to make any necessary corrections.
  • To segregate the day’s credit card charge vouchers by company and balance them to the computer totals. To watch for and alert Income Auditors of any expired cards, the use of wrong company vouchers, incomplete imprints and so forth so that the requisite action may be taken.
  • To balance all manually posted charges, miscellaneous vouchers, etc. (i.e. paid-outs, refunds etc.).
  • To ensure the daily accuracy of outlet report, folios, all types of vouchers and restaurant checks, before sending them to the Accounting Department.
  • To distribute sales and statistical reports to selected department heads.
  • To compile all audit records for follow up by the Income Auditor.
  • To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • To respond to changes in departmental functions as dictated by the industry, the company, or the hotel.
  • Coach new staff to help them perform better.

Other Duties and responsibilities:

  • To be thoroughly familiar with the responsibilities and to depute during his/her absence.
  • To always provide courteous and professional services and maintain good working relationship with all colleagues.
  • To be fully aware of the Hotel’s policy and procedures and to adhere to them.
  • To have a complete understanding of the hotel’s policy relating to fire, safety, and health.
  • To have a complete understanding of the hotel’s employee handbook and adhere to the regulations contained therein.
  • To ensure the confidentiality of data and information and not to be disclosed outside the department. Financial Controller shall exercise discretion in this matter.
  • Regularly attends on-the-job, behavioural, and vocational training in own and related areas to enhance skill and develop multi-functionality.
  • He / She must be a self-starter, alert, energetic, responsible, and flexible.

Qualification: 

  • A minimum of years (3) years of experience in a reputable organization in accounting, finance, or auditing.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent.
  • To have good communication skills.
