Job Description:

  • Develop and prepare detailed budgets for new project proposals in collaboration with program teams.
  • Participate in budget negotiations with donors and partners to ensure alignment with project goals and financial capacity.
  • Prepare and process budget amendments for ongoing projects as required, ensuring that changes are accurately reflected in financial systems.
  • Work closely with program managers to adjust budgets in response to project scope changes or donor requirements.
  • Ensure that all financial activities related to external partnerships comply with donor requirements, organizational policies, and legal regulations.
  • Monitor partnership agreements to ensure financial terms are adhered to and that funds are utilized appropriately.
  • Track and manage the submission of financial reports for current projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate with project teams to prepare and submit requests for advances, installments, and liquidations to donors and partners.
  • Prepare and submit financial reports for ongoing projects, detailing expenditures, budget performance, and financial compliance.
  • Provide financial data and analysis to project managers and senior management to support decision-making.
  • Manage and utilize eTools, UNPRP, and UNPP platforms for financial tracking, reporting, and compliance.
  • Ensure that all financial data is accurately recorded and updated in the relevant platforms in accordance with donor requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary financial documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure that all financial activities meet audit standards and are in compliance with donor and organizational guidelines.

Job Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, particularly in budgeting and financial reporting for external projects.
  • Experience with financial compliance for partnerships, budget negotiations, and amendments.
  • Proficiency in financial software, eTools, UNPRP, and UNPP platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge, understanding and commitment to organizational policies
  • Willingness to travel to provinces when planed by the management
  • Willingness to work outside official hours
  • Language Proficiency:

  • Fluency in both national language (Dari & Pashto) oral and written
  • Fluency in English is a must both oral and written
