Job Description:
You will help coordinate and contribute to the implementation of the policies and procedures in compliance with CRS’ established accounting standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), donors’ rules and regulations, and legal requirements to support high-quality programs serving the poor and vulnerable. You will efficiently perform accounting services through documenting the financial transactions by compiling, analyzing, and verifying account information, preparing account entries, and delivering financial reporting services throughout the project life cycle.
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare various periodic and ad hoc financial reports (BCR, Pools Ratio Reports etc.) and perform analysis to assist operation and program staff with decision-making.
- Assist in budget maintenance and setting up new projects, for proper management of financial resources.
- In collaboration with program staff, prepare comprehensive donor and ministry reports, ensuring full compliance with all requirements. Provide guidance on potential risks and areas of non-compliance as necessary
- Provide guidance to program staff, subrecipients, and partners on financial accounting policies and compliance requirements, and deliver training and capacity-building initiatives.
- Establish and monitor robust accounting and financial reporting procedures for subrecipients and partners in alignment with organizational standards. Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of all financial data in Insight (Oracle ERP).
- Record financial transactions with proper authorization, and review and analyze accounts to identify irregularities. Recommend and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assess and monitor subrecipient financial management practices to ensure compliance with policy and strengthen partner capacity in financial accounting and transaction processing.
- Ensure disbursement and receipt schedules are in place and program and partner staff are aware of pending payments or liquidations. Maintain timely communication to ensure adherence to deadlines and effective resource management.
- Provide support and generate and deliver Insight ERP reports tailored to user roles and access permissions
- Provide necessary assistance during audits to ensure smooth and compliant processes.
- Ensure all required documentation and auditable correspondence are properly organized and securely stored in the shared drive.
- Provide training and orientation to designated staff to establish effective backup coverage for all critical tasks.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration with courses in accounting, or a qualification in accounting (CPA/ACCA or equivalent).
- Minimum of two-five years' experience in a position with similar responsibilities, preferably with an international or local NGO, or a financial/banking institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the relevant public donor regulations is preferred.
- Knowledge of Oracle ERP system or similar financial reporting software preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in MS Office packages (Excel (Pivot), Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications (Teams, Zoom).
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to detect and report inconsistencies

Required Languages – English
Travel – Must be willing and able to travel up to 40 %.
