Organization for Women Empowerment (OWE) is a national, women-led non-profit organization established in 2014 and registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economy. OWE works to advance women’s empowerment, livelihoods, education, protection, health, and inclusive community development.

With support from ACTED, OWE implemented the Fostering Access to Socio-Economic Opportunities project in Kunduz City, supporting 10 women- and youth-led micro and small enterprises (MSMEs). Beneficiaries received capacity-building training, tailored mentorship, technical assistance, in-kind business support, and opportunities to connect with markets and business networks. The initiative strengthened business knowledge and operational capacity while helping entrepreneurs showcase their products and explore sustainable market opportunities, contributing to greater economic participation and livelihoods in Kunduz.
