About the Role
KSARO is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Communications Officer to help with pictures/images, and share the daily work of our rescue teams. This role requires someone who can independently identify compelling stories, collect and organize visual content, and support communications efforts without requiring constant supervision.
The successful candidate will be passionate about animal welfare, highly organized, and capable of transforming large volumes of photos and updates into meaningful content that supports KSARO's mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily communications channels and stay connected with all relevant staff members and rescue teams.
- Collect, review, organize, and archive photos and videos received from field staff.
- Select high-quality and emotionally engaging images for internal and external use.
- Crop, edit, and prepare photographs for reports, social media, fundraising campaigns, and donor communications.
- Create organized photo collections and send daily summary emails featuring noteworthy rescues, animal updates, and visually compelling content.
- Track individual rescue animals and maintain photo histories showing progress over time.
- Prepare before-and-after rescue photo packages and visual success stories.
- Assist with social media content preparation and content distribution across relevant animal welfare platforms and groups.
- Coordinate with staff to obtain missing information, photos, and updates when required.
- Identify unique, heartwarming, and impactful stories that help communicate KSAR's work.
- Able to work with AI and trending social content creation.
