Job Summary

Afghan German Bakhtar Railway Road Building Constriction company is seeking a qualified and experienced  Structural Engineer The position is for the full duration of the project, including construction of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, drainage structures, and any defect liability period as required The Structural Engineer will report directly to the Project Manager / Resident Engineer / Consultant Structural Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction of all structural components including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, box culverts, and drainage structures.
  • Review and verify structural drawings, reinforcement details, and construction methodologies prior to execution.
  • Ensure proper execution of concrete works, including formwork installation, reinforcement fixing, and concreting operations.
  • Monitor quality control of all structural materials such as cement, aggregates, steel reinforcement, and concrete mixes.
  • Ensure compliance with approved structural design standards, specifications, and engineering codes.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship and structural integrity of ongoing works.
  • Coordinate with the Road Engineer, QA/QC team, survey team, and Project Manager for smooth execution of works.
  • Identify structural issues and recommend corrective engineering solutions.
  • Prepare structural inspection reports and periodic progress reports for submission to the Project Manager/Consultant.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards during structural construction activities.

 Conditions of Employment

  • Full-time site-based position throughout the project duration
  • Must be present during all critical structural construction activities
  • Compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and engineering standards is mandatory
  • Strict adherence to QA/QC and safety procedures
  • Responsible for accurate documentation and reporting of structural works
  • Subject to performance evaluation by the Project Manager/Consultant
  • Employment may be terminated in case of non-performance or breach of contract terms
