Internal Audit Manager (Call for CVs)

Vision Development Organization (VDO), founded in 2015 by Afghan women leaders, is a national, women-led NGO dedicated to advancing the dignity, resilience, and leadership of women, youth, and marginalized communities. Despite Afghanistan’s complex humanitarian and governance challenges, VDO has grown into a trusted, principled, and adaptive organization, delivering programs in protection, education, livelihoods, social inclusion, and community development across multiple provinces. Anchored in integrity, accountability, and operational excellence, VDO upholds strong governance, safeguarding, and compliance standards while championing women’s leadership and equitable, high-quality service delivery.

• Lead and manage the internal audit function for VDO to ensure effective internal controls, risk management, compliance, governance, and operational accountability across all departments and projects.
• Develop annual internal audit plans, audit methodologies, audit schedules, risk-based audit frameworks, and audit reporting systems.
• Conduct and supervise financial, operational, procurement, HR, logistics, safeguarding, MEAL, and compliance audits across headquarters and field offices.
• Review financial transactions, procurement files, payroll systems, inventory records, contracts, donor compliance, and operational procedures to identify weaknesses, risks, irregularities, or non-compliance issues.
• Prepare audit reports with findings, recommendations, risk analysis, and corrective action plans for management review.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and follow-up actions.
• Coordinate with external auditors, donor auditors, compliance teams, and management during audits and investigations.
• Ensure confidentiality, independence, integrity, and professionalism throughout audit processes.
• Support strengthening of internal control systems, fraud prevention measures, and organizational accountability mechanisms.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 7–10 years of audit or internal control experience within NGOs or donor-funded environments.
• Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk management, internal controls, and donor compliance,
• Strong analytical, leadership, and reporting skills.
• English excellent, Dari and Pashtu fluent
