OPHCD, is an Afghan national NGO established in 2017 and registered with the Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Public Health. OPHCD works to promote equitable access to quality humanitarian and health services for underserved communities. With support from MdM, OPHCD operates a Mobile Health and Nutrition Team serving nomadic communities across Sayed Abad, Nurkh and Jaghato districts of Maidan Wardak. The project provides integrated primary healthcare, including reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health, communicable disease control, mental health and psychosocial support, vaccination and nutrition services. Overall, the intervention reached 3,220 people across 13 villages, contributing to improved access to essential healthcare for nomadic communities who face significant barriers due to mobility and remote living conditions. The wider project is designed to serve approximately 17,617 nomadic people across the three districts, helping bring essential health and nutrition services closer to communities that are often underserved.
