Warmth and Dignity for Earthquake-Affected Families in Kunar
We are pleased to highlight the Organization for Coordination of Humanitarian Relief (OCHR), an Afghan national NGO established in 2015. OCHR delivers humanitarian and development assistance across Afghanistan in WASH, food security and nutrition, shelter, education, health, protection, livelihoods, and climate resilience, with a focus on supporting crisis-affected, displaced, returnee, and marginalized communities.
Between January and April 2026, OCHR, with support from CAID, provided winterization assistance to 400 earthquake-affected households in Kunar Province. A total of 2,909 people, including 1,588 women and girls and 101 persons with disabilities, received winter clothing kits and blankets to help protect them from harsh winter conditions.
By providing timely winter support, OCHR helped reduce cold-related risks, strengthen community resilience, and enable vulnerable families to recover with greater safety and dignity following the earthquake.
