Alongside the Ministry of Public Health, AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive Health since its inception. AFGA is a fully accredited member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and an important partner of UNFPA.

A committed team of more than 600 experts are working in 11 provinces of Afghanistan to achieve AFGA goals and objectives. AFGA provides health services to the most vulnerable and hard to reach communities through over 140 service delivery points.  

About Hospital:

AFGA  establishment 20-bed hospital in Kabul, aimed at providing quality Reproductive Health services to mothers and newborns. The hospital is fully equipped with modern medical equipment, facilities and staffed by experts.

As part of a long-term development plan, hospital services will continuously expand, serving as the central hub for AFGA outreach and small Service Delivery Points (SDPs) to refer patients needing advanced care. The hospital  adhere to national and international standards for patient safety and quality service, ensuring it meets the needs of target communities.

Job Summary

Job Summary: 
The Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for performing various tasks at the front desk, including greeting patients, entering data, answering phones, and handling clerical work. This role involves daily interaction with patients, their families, and other visitors. The principal responsibilities of Front Desk Receptionist are mentioned below but not limited: 
Duties & Responsibilities: 
•    Presenting greetings and welcome to patients, visitors, and patients’ family members in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival.
•    Providing information to the patients related to their illness and direct them to the relevant doctors or departments. 
•    Responsible for effective and professional communication which may include answering to phone calls and emails from patients, directing callers to the appropriate departments or doctors. 
•    Make sure the office scheduling is running professionally this may include office schedule for staff members. 
•    Register new patients and update existing patient information, file medical records and other documents. Make sure all these records and files and placed in the cabinet for the future usage. 
•    Responsible for scheduling meetings, appointments and follow ups with the patients, call the patients to remind them for the appointments exact date and time. This might include cancellation or postponement of the appointment, make sure the update information is shared with the patients. 
•    Manage and maintain patient medical records, ensuring confidentiality, and accuracy. 
•    Make sure the patient flow management is going smoothly such as waiting lists and ensure efficient patient flow. 
•    Issuing patients registration file to the patients and provide them the required information about the doctor, fee, and hospital services. 
•    Provide assistance to patients in filling out forms and answering their questions. 
•    Act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, relaying messages and updates as needed. 
•    Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors related to the front desk receptionist nature. 

Job Requirements

·         Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics or public administration.

·         At least two years’ experience in receptionist, experience in medical firms is highly required.

·         Fluent in Pashto & Dari languages.

·         Excellent computer skills such as printing, typing and usage of other software.

Excellent knowledge in appointment management, medical records, patient flow management and patient registration

Working Hours and Duty Schedule:

·         The staff member is required to work according to the assigned and approved duty schedule. She must work (15 to 16) Day/night shifts (24 Hours Shifts) per month as part of the regular duty rotation.
