Job Summary

Production Costing

  • Calculate the production cost of cement and clinker.
  • Track and analyze major production costs, including:
    • Raw materials
    • Fuel / coal
    • Electricity
    • Direct labor
    • Packaging
    • Maintenance
    • Production overhead
  • Calculate cost per ton of cement and clinker.
  • Compare actual production costs with budget or standard costs.
  • Identify significant cost variances and report them to the Finance Manager.
  • Prepare monthly production cost reports.
  • Reconcile production costing records with accounting records.
  • Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Procurement, and Finance departments to obtain accurate cost information.

B. Payroll

  • Prepare monthly payroll based on approved employee records and attendance.
  • Calculate:
    • Basic salaries
    • Allowances
    • Overtime
    • Deductions
    • Advances
    • Other approved adjustments
  • Verify payroll changes against approved HR documentation.
  • Reconcile payroll with the approved salary payment schedule.
  • Prepare payroll summaries for review and approval.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee salary information.
  • Coordinate with HR regarding new employees, resignations, salary changes, and other payroll adjustments.

C. Fixed Asset Management

  • Maintain and update the company's fixed asset register.
  • Record acquisition and capitalization of assets.
  • Record asset transfers, additions, and disposals.
  • Maintain appropriate asset identification and documentation.
  • Calculate monthly depreciation.
  • Record depreciation in the accounting system.
  • Reconcile the fixed asset register with the General Ledger.
  • Support periodic physical verification of fixed assets.
  • Report discrepancies between physical assets and accounting records.

D. Depreciation

  • Calculate depreciation according to the company's approved accounting policy.
  • Ensure depreciation is recorded accurately and on time.
  • Review useful lives and asset classifications based on approved policies.
  • Prepare monthly depreciation schedules.
  • Reconcile depreciation expense with the General Ledger.

 

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred. Experience in manufacturing or the cement industry is an advantage.
