Job Summary

The Anesthesiologist is responsible for assessing patients before surgery, developing and administering appropriate anesthesia, and continuously monitoring patients during surgical procedures. The role includes airway and vital-sign management, handling anesthesia-related emergencies, providing post-anesthesia care, ensuring proper use of anesthesia equipment and medicines, maintaining accurate records, and working closely with surgeons and other clinical staff to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Duties & Responsiblity: 

  • Conduct pre-anesthetic assessment and evaluate patients before surgery.
  • Develop appropriate anesthesia plans based on patient condition and surgical requirements.
  • Administer and monitor general, regional, and local anesthesia as appropriate.
  • Monitor vital signs and patient condition throughout surgical procedures.
  • Manage airway, ventilation, and hemodynamic stability during anesthesia.
  • Provide immediate management of anesthesia-related emergencies and complications.
  • Provide appropriate post-anesthesia care and monitor patient recovery.
  • Ensure safe use, maintenance, and availability of anesthesia equipment and medicines.
  • Follow infection prevention, patient safety, and clinical standards.
  • Maintain accurate anesthesia records and patient documentation.
  • Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other clinical staff.
  • Participate in emergency and resuscitation services when required.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to relevant clinical staff.
  • Support clinical audits, case reviews, and quality improvement activities.

Job Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD) from a recognized medical institution.
  • Specialist qualification in Anesthesiology.
  • Valid professional license/registration from the relevant health authority.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in anesthesia practice.
  • Proven experience in general and regional anesthesia and emergency management.
  • Strong knowledge of airway management, patient monitoring, and resuscitation.
  • Experience working in hospital or surgical settings.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to patient safety, professional ethics, and confidentiality.
