Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Vaccinator to join our hospital's immunization department. The successful candidate will conduct routine vaccination sessions for children and women according to the National EPI (Expanded Program on Immunization) schedule, manage cold chain equipment, and provide public health education to patients and families to prevent vaccine-preventable diseases. Additionally, the candidates will manage the hospital's primary blood sample collection (phlebotomy) to support laboratory diagnostics, ensuring high standards of patient care and biosafety.
Key Responsibilities
- Immunization Services: Administer vaccines to children and women of childbearing age according to the national MoPH/EPI guidelines.
- Cold Chain Management: Maintain and monitor vaccine refrigerator temperatures twice daily, ensuring proper storage conditions and safety.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record patient info on immunization cards, registers, and tally sheets; compile daily/weekly vaccination logs.
- Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI): Recognize, manage, and immediately report any post-vaccination reactions or side effects.
- Waste Management: Safe disposal of sharps, syringes, and medical waste using standard safety boxes to prevent contamination.
- Health Education: Provide counseling to parents regarding the vaccine schedule, benefits, and next-visit tracking.
- Blood Sample Collection (Phlebotomy): Perform safe, hygienic, and precise venipuncture and capillary blood sampling for pediatric, adult, and obstetric
