Consultant Trainer

Job Purpose

The Consultant Trainer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality training and capacity-building programs for project beneficiaries, organizational staff, partners, community representatives, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.

The Consultant Trainer will apply participatory, practical, inclusive, and context-sensitive training methodologies to ensure effective knowledge transfer and skills development. The position holder will assess training needs, develop customized training materials, facilitate interactive training sessions, evaluate participant learning outcomes, and provide recommendations for further capacity development.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Consultant Trainer will be responsible for the following:

Training Assessment and Planning

• Conduct training needs assessments in consultation with the client, project team, and relevant stakeholders.
• Identify participants' knowledge gaps, skills needs, and capacity development priorities.
• Develop training plans, methodologies, agendas, and implementation schedules.
• Customize training approaches and content according to the project objectives and local context.

Training Material Development

• Develop high-quality and contextually appropriate training manuals, modules, presentations, handouts, exercises, case studies, and other learning materials.
• Ensure training materials are practical, easy to understand, and adapted to the participants' level of knowledge and experience.
• Integrate participatory and adult-learning methodologies into training design.
• Ensure materials promote inclusion, gender sensitivity, safeguarding, and respect for diversity where applicable.

Training Delivery and Facilitation

• Deliver engaging, interactive, and practical training sessions using appropriate facilitation techniques.
• Encourage active participation through group discussions, role plays, practical exercises, case studies, and experience sharing.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
• Adapt training methodologies based on participant feedback and learning needs.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to participants where required.

• Education

  • A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications will be an advantage.

  Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in training, facilitation, capacity building, consultancy, or organizational development.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering training programs for NGOs, civil society organizations, government institutions, communities, or private sector organizations.
  • Experience working in Afghanistan or similar challenging and culturally diverse contexts is highly desirable.
  • Experience in developing training manuals, curricula, and learning materials.
  • Proven ability to facilitate participatory and adult-learning-based training sessions.
