Engagement training in Herat province.
ACBAR is always committed to strengthening and developing the capacities of its member NGOs, both national and international. As per this commitment, ACBAR regularly organizes capacity development trainings at both central and regional levels. These trainings are designed as per member NGOs’ requests and tailored to the specific technical and administrative needs of member organizations, to enhance their skills, effectiveness, sustainability, and program delivery.
The advocacy, communication, and engagement department of ACBAR decided to conduct the engagement training for member NGOs operating in the western region of Afghanistan (Herat province) after completing four engagement trainings in the northeastern region (Kunduz province) and northern region (Balkh province) in 2025, as well as in the southeast (Khost province) and eastern (Nangarhar province) in 2024.
With the aim of improving participants' knowledge in topics of policy influence, collaboration, partnership, communication, and engagement, ACBAR organized this two-day training in its regional office in Herat province, which took place on May 25–26, 2025, in coordination with member NGOs in the western region.
This session was attended by thirty staff members from member NGOs in western Afghanistan. Senior-level employees made up the majority of these participants since they deal with engagement concerns on a daily basis. The training was most beneficial to the participants since they needed to increase their engagement knowledge because they are in charge of carrying out initiatives and programs in their field of work.
ACBAR will continue to support capacity development of national and international member NGOs, as ACBAR believes that effective NGOs could be the pillar for stronger communities.
