Job Description:
Position Summary
The Security Guard & Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, cleanliness, and proper maintenance of the Parwan Office premises. The role combines security duties (70%) with cleaning and basic maintenance tasks (30%) to support a safe, orderly, and hygienic working environment for staff and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
A. Security Guard Responsibilities (70%)
- Conduct regular patrols of the office premises to ensure safety and security.
- Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment.
- Test and verify the proper functioning of alarm and security systems on a regular basis.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, or safety concerns.
- Review incident reports and follow up on outstanding security-related issues.
- Coordinate and communicate effectively with other security personnel and the Discipline & Maintenance Officer.
- Control access to the premises and ensure adherence to organizational security procedures.
- Provide guidance, assistance, and support to employees, visitors, and guests as needed.
B. Cleaner Responsibilities (30%)
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, offices, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors as required.
- Empty trash containers and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Dust and clean furniture, surfaces, windows, and glass areas.
- Wipe and disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, switches, and desks.
- Conduct deep cleaning of specific areas or equipment according to the cleaning schedule.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across the office premises.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties related to security, cleanliness, or maintenance as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications
- Minimum secondary school education; basic literacy and numeracy skills are required.
- 3 years’ experience in relevant position with INGO or National NGO is preferred.
- Be able to work night shift duty.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, safety protocols, and emergency response.
- Ability to operate basic security equipment such as CCTV cameras and alarm systems is an advantage.
- Good understanding of cleanliness, hygiene standards, and proper use of cleaning materials.
- Physically fit and able to perform patrol duties and cleaning tasks.
- Honest, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under the supervision of the Discipline & Maintenance Officer.
