We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural / CAD Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing structural design solutions and producing accurate and high-quality technical drawings using CAD software. This dual-role position requires a strong understanding of engineering principles and proficiency in drafting to support the successful delivery of infrastructure, building, and rehabilitation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Structural Design:

• Perform structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures in compliance with international and local standards (e.g., ACI, Eurocode, ASCE).

• Prepare structural calculations, design reports, and technical specifications.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to ensure structural designs align with project requirements.

• Conduct site visits and assist with technical assessments, inspections, and reporting.

• Review design documents to ensure constructability and code compliance.

CAD Drafting:

• Produce detailed structural drawings including plans, sections, elevations, and details using AutoCAD and other drafting software.

• Modify and update existing drawings based on design revisions and feedback from engineers.

• Ensure all drawings are clear, accurate, and follow project-specific and company CAD standards.

• Maintain proper documentation and archiving of all design files and project data.

• Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure consistency and integration across all design outputs.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural design and CAD drafting.

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D and basic 3D drafting).

  • Experience with structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or STAAD Pro is a strong advantage.

  • Knowledge of design standards (ACI, ASCE, IBC, etc.).

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.

• Other Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.

  • Experience in the humanitarian or development sector is a plus.

  • Familiarity with BIM/Revit is an asset (optional).
