About Gate of Hope Afghanistan Organization:
Gate of Hope Afghanistan Organization (GOH-A) is an Afghan non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit humanitarian organization established in 2022 and registered with the Government of Afghanistan under the supervision of Ministry of Economy (MoEc) with a mission to provide humanitarian and development assistance to the vulnerable, at-risk, and underserved people throughout the country.
GOH-A responds to the needs of deprived and marginalized rural and urban communities by managing and utilizing the available scarce resources in a well-organized, efficient, effective, transparent, and dignified manner to enhance resilience, boost access to education, health services, and infrastructure, ensure food and livelihood security, and promote social protection and inclusion.
GOH-A has an active presence in most parts of the country and intends to expand its operations to the remaining provinces, as to transform itself into a leading and developed organization that will deliver to and support large number of people who have been affected by the long-protracted and sudden on-set emergencies and regardless of the hardest circumstances that exist in Afghanistan.
Job Description:
The position of Volunteer – Capacity Building Trainee under the WPHF-funded Organizational Capacity Strengthening Project is designed to provide motivated young individuals (18-29) ages, particularly women and displaced youth, with a structured learning and professional development opportunity within the nonprofit and humanitarian sector.
This role is pivotal in fostering a new generation of community-driven professionals equipped with foundational knowledge and practical skills in key operational & programmatic functions. The trainees will actively participate in a tailored training program aimed at enhancing their understanding of core organizational systems such as finance & accounting, operational administration, human resource support, gender & SGBV, effective communication, and teamwork. By rotating across departments and being involved in real-time organizational processes, the trainees will gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day workings of a civil society organization as well.
The ultimate aim of this position is two fold:
1. To empower volunteers with the competencies needed to pursue careers in development, humanitarian work, or civil society leadership, and
2. To foster a sustainable pipeline of capable individuals who can contribute meaningfully to the empowerment of women, girls, and vulnerable populations in Afghanistan.
This position is integral to the success of GOH-A's strategic vision of inclusive capacity development and represents a commitment to localization and youth engagement in peacebuilding and humanitarian response efforts.
Job Requirements:
Essential:
- 12th degree pass.
- Strong knowledge of organizational ethics and behaviours.
- Be a headed household or IDP (internally displaced person).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Good written and speaken knowledge of English, Persian and Pashto.
Desirable:
- Recent graduate or Bachelor's degree student
- Proficiency in English.
- Well knowldege of Microsoft office - Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Skills:
- Microsoft Office - Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Web Conferencing - Skills using Zoom, Teams, Google Meet for recieving remote trainings and virtual meetings.
- Having sound organizational ethics and ability to work in team.

- Critical Thinker and Problem-Solver
- Experience in capacity building and training of staff.
Language skills:
Advanced oral and written skills in English;
Fluent in Pashto/Dari
