WDIO Background:

Watan Development and Initiative Organization is a non-governmental, nonprofit, non-political, and independent organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting communities through sustainable development, social justice, and the enhancement of well-being for individuals and families. Since its establishment in 2014, we have tirelessly worked towards poverty alleviation, economic empowerment, education and skill development, health and well-being, gender equality, women's empowerment, agriculture and livestock, and environmental sustainability. Our goal is to improve living conditions, provide quality education and essential skills to individuals, enhance community health and well-being, achieve gender equality, improve agricultural productivity, and promote environmental sustainability.

WDIO is committed to applying a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards acts of sexual exploitation and abuse by its personnel. In 2003, the United Nations Secretary-General issued a Bulletin on “Special measures for protection from sexual exploitation and sexual abuse” (ST/SGB/2003/13) (“the Bulletin”). To support the system-wide implementation of the zero-tolerance policy, the Director-General has decided to adopt the standards of conduct and provisions on PSEA set by the Bulletin, adjusted as necessary, to be applied by WDIO personnel, as follows.

Main Duties& Responsibilities

• Plan the project implementation at the district and community level with the team.
• Share criteria for selection of beneficiaries with the field team, CDCs, Schools, beneficiary selection committees, and other relevant stakeholders at the field level
• Oversee the selection process of beneficiaries for all the project interventions.
• Ensure project achievements according to the project work plan and make course corrections when needed
• Ensure that staff at the field level has monthly individual work plans and follow up/make adjustments as needed
• Ensure that all stakeholders such as; CDCs, Schools, CBE, and sectoral departments participate in project activities and are satisfied and well-coordinated
• Work closely with District Field monitor on budget planning and use at district levels and ensure to avoid any over/under expenditures
• Demonstrate good teamwork and involve others in decision-making and keep them informed of affairs
• Conduct regular monitoring of field staff performance and project implementation in the field and report findings to the Provincial Coordinator.
• Hold regular meetings with the project staff at field level to share success, solve problems, and plan ahead
• Solving conflicts when raised and providing proper recommendations for solutions to the apparent conflicts and problems
• Ensure timely collection of quality reports from the field staff & ensure timely and quality submission of reports to his/her supervisor
• Actively participate in meetings at the local level
• Any other task by the supervisor.

• Minimum of 2 years of working experience in similar national and international NGO positions.
• 14^th-grade general education is required (preference to those who have bachelor's degree in social science)
• Required Languages – Excellent writing, reading and verbal skills in Pashto, Dari, and English.
• Travel – The position will be based in one of the Samangan districts, which has frequent travels to the field (schools, CBE classes).
• Preference is given to those who have a couple
• Field Monitor/Supervisor is required to have his/her smartphone for ODK purposes.
• Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity
• Ability to travel throughout the province;
• Respect the confidentiality of the organization;
• Ability to use information technology effectively.

Must read the Safeguarding Policy and either sign the Safeguarding Code of Conduct that is consistent with or references this policy and the Safeguarding Code of Conduct.

Must read the PSEA and Anti-harassment policies and either sign them

Ensure that all the staff, partners, and vendors selection process adequately implant PSEA, Anti-harassment Safeguarding Policies commitments.
