Job Description:
Job Summary
WDIO is looking for qualified District Food Distribution Coordinators for its project in districts of Samangan province. The incumbents will be responsible to fully manage the overall coordination process of the food distribution in the respective districts and target communities.
Main Duties& Responsibilities
- Plan the project implementation at the district and community level with the team.
- Ensure project achievements according to the project work plan and make course corrections when needed
- Ensure that all stakeholders, such as CDCs, Schools, CBE, and sectoral departments, participate in project activities and are satisfied and well-coordinated
- Conduct regular monitoring of field staff performance and project implementation in the field and report findings to the Provincial Coordinator.
- Hold regular meetings with the project staff at the field level to share success, solve problems, and plan ahead
- Solving conflicts when raised and providing proper recommendations for solutions to the apparent conflicts and problems
- Actively participate in meetings at the local level
- Attending the training organized by WFP for the food distribution staff in Samangan.
- Undertake the responsibility of properly checking and receiving dispatched food items by WFP in their respective target locations and ensure the SF project team from proper records and documentation of the food receipt.
- Properly maintain a record of the food items in the warehouses and update the monthly food items report to his/her respective line manager.
- Ensures that food storage is done based on the warehousing SOPs.
- Provide training to the storekeepers on the proper food maintenance system.
- Regular physical check and verification of the food items in the target warehouses and immediately report any food discrepancy, damage.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly plans and reports of their activities or any schedules.
- Manage and respond to the feedback of community members regarding the distribution policies
- Address any issues and problems that may arise during the project implementation in close consultation and coordination with the project management team.
- Adhere to WDIO policies and procedures during the project implementation processes.
- Participate in the project coordination meetings in the provincial office as requested.
- Any other duty assigned by the line manager
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of working experience in similar national and international NGO positions.
- A bachelor’s degree in general education and/or social science is required.
- Required Languages – Excellent writing, reading, and verbal skills in Pashto, Dari, and English.
- Travel – The position will be based in one of the Samangan districts, which has frequent travel to the field (schools, CBE classes).
- Excellent capacity development and teamwork skills; cross-cultural and gender sensitivity
- Very good oral and written communication skills
- Very good interpersonal skills
- Good MS Office knowledge (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Good understanding of the target area language and culture
- Ability to develop a practical working plan for the field.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
