Job Description:
Regular Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the delivery of evidence-based, patient-centered care within the department.
- Monitor and improve clinical outcomes, ensuring alignment with ISO and SafeCare Level 5 standards.
- Lead and participate in morbidity and mortality reviews and quality improvement initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and review departmental policies, procedures, pathways, and protocols.
- Manage departmental budgets, staffing, and resource allocation efficiently.
- Oversee scheduling and ensure optimal coverage for patient care and on-call duties.
- Ensure adherence to ISO certification, SafeCare Level 5 requirements, and other accreditation standards i.e. JCIA.
- Regularly monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective and preventive actions where needed.
- Conduct and oversee clinical audits and risk management programs within the department.
- Actively participate in and oversee the PGME program within the department.
- Mentor and support Sr./Medical Officers, Residents, and Trainee fellows in their clinical and academic development.
- Organize Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions, departmental case discussions, and training workshops.
- Promote and participate in research activities to advance medical knowledge and improve patient care.
- Support departmental staff in publishing research papers and presenting at conferences.
- Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient care.
- Represent the department in hospital leadership meetings and contribute to institutional planning.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the wider hospital community.
b. Periodic Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the hospital’s strategic goals by setting and achieving departmental objectives.
- Identify and address gaps in service delivery and clinical expertise within the department.
- Prepare the department for periodic ISO and SafeCare audits and reviews.
- Update and revise departmental policies to align with national and international healthcare standards.
- Participate in hospital outreach programs, health camps, and awareness campaigns.
- Promote the department’s services to the community through educational initiatives.
Job Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of ISO and SafeCare Level 5 standards.
- Familiarity with healthcare accreditation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Strategic planning and budget management.
- Ability to drive quality improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication (in Pashto, Dari, and English languages) and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and team management.

- Excellent computer skill specially in MS Office Packages.
