Our 130+ Afghan staff is active in the field of disability and community development. Most of our projects have a long-term focus and therefore we value the continued training of our staff and seek to use the talents and optimize the capacities of each individual member of our teams.

Serve Afghanistan is currently working in 12 projects in 5 main sectors which are Inclusive Education for disabled children, Livelihood, Mother, Child Health & Nutrition, Mother Tongue Literacy and Disaster Management.

Job Description:

Main Duty: Perform the all a Pharmacist works in a Health Center and logistics.

 

Pharmacist Responsibilities:

  • Compounding and dispensing medications, as prescribed by the physicians only and recorded on daily basis.
  • Instructing customers on how and when to take prescribed medications.
  • Monitoring customers’ drug therapies, advising interventions, and informing customers of any potential side effects.
  • Conducting health and wellness screenings.
  • Providing immunizations, and other medical services, such as taking blood pressure, temperature measurements, and checking blood sugar levels.
  • Keeping accurate customer records.
  • Ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Completing operational requirements of the pharmacy, including verifying order entries, maintaining records of controlled substances, charges, and removing expired and/or damaged drugs from the pharmacy’s inventory.
  • Adhering to applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures governing pharmaceutical practice.
  • Keep clear record of medicines by method of stock in and out and keep good coordination and cooperation with project coordinator.
  • Prepare an Indent as per the requirement for the pharmacy to procure medicines with the approval of the doctor.
  • Purchase quality medicines or drug from good companies following the financial procedures of the Organization.
  • Performing other administrative tasks when needed.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
  • Proven experience as a pharmacist.
  • Valid license to practice as a pharmacist.
  • Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent Reading, Writing and Speaking in Dari, Pashto and English.
