Job Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical Junior to support economic and financial analysis, data modelling, and reporting for our clients’ projects. The ideal candidate will bring strong quantitative skills, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach to driving data-driven insights.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Vouching & Transaction Testing

  • Perform vouching procedures by examining supporting documents (e.g., invoices, receipts, contracts) to verify the authenticity and accuracy of recorded transactions.
  • Conduct sample testing of financial data (e.g., expenses, revenues, cash transactions) under supervision, ensuring alignment with audit plans.
  • Verify compliance of transactions with client policies, funding agreements, and regulatory requirements.

Fieldwork Support

  • Assist Audit Seniors/Managers during on-site audits by gathering, organizing, and reviewing physical/digital financial records at client locations.
  • Participate in inventory counts, asset verifications, and other fieldwork activities to validate the existence and condition of assets.
  • Document fieldwork findings in clear, concise working papers for review by senior team members.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare audit workpapers to evidence testing procedures, including cross-referencing supporting documents to ledger entries.
  • Flag discrepancies, anomalies, or unsupported transactions to Audit Seniors/Managers for further investigation.
  • Assist in drafting sections of audit reports by summarizing testing outcomes and compliance issues.

Learning & Collaboration

  • Work closely with audit seniors to understand audit objectives, sampling methodologies, and testing protocols.
  • Shadow senior team members during client interviews and control testing to develop technical skills.
  • Participate in debrief sessions to review findings and incorporate feedback into work outputs.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Pursuing or willingness to pursue professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CIA) is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in auditing, accounting, or finance.
  • Internships in audit firms or finance departments are preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • Basic proficiency in Excel (e.g., sorting, filtering, pivot tables) for data compilation.
  • Familiarity with audit and accounting software’s (e.g., QuickBooks) is advantageous.

Language:

  • Fluency in English; ability to interpret financial documents in local languages is a plus.
