Job Description:

Job Summary

The Computer Skills Trainer will provide essential digital literacy training to entrepreneurs from small and medium-sized businesses, equipping them with fundamental and intermediate computer skills to support their business growth. The trainer will be responsible for developing and delivering training materials tailored to participants’ needs, ensuring an engaging and effective learning experience

The duties and responsibilities of a computer trainer

  • Develop training materials, worksheets, and exercises considering the age of students to support student learning.
  • Train Participants on basic computer operations, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), graphic design, and website development
  • Train participant on using the digital platform for their small business on how to advertise and sell their product
  • Provide additional support to participants who require extra assistance
  • Encourage the participant's skills by fostering a positive, supportive learning environment that boosts their confidence and motivates them to engage with computer learning.
  • Conduct weekly evaluations of the class to assess participants’ progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Maintain and manage the computer lab, ensuring all equipment is used properly and responsibly to prevent misuse or damage.
  • Troubleshoot system and network issues to ensure smooth operation of computer lab activities.
  • Maintain attendance and other records, and submit regular progress reports to the project coordinator.
  • Maintain proper classroom management by creating an organized, respectful, and inclusive learning environment that supports student focus and participation.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by the project coordinator.

Job Requirements:

Certifications / Education required

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any other related field is required.
  • Diploma in English Language.

Professional Experience required

Minimum 2 years of experience in teaching computer skills.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of operating systems, office applications (Microsoft Office, Google Suite), and industry-specific software
  • Good communication and classroom management skills.
  • Report writing skills. 
  • Problem-Solving: Helping students troubleshoot technical issues and guiding them toward solutions.
  • Creativity: Using interactive methods, such as hands-on exercises and group discussions, to make learning engaging.
