Job Description:
Summary:
Las Pay is seeking a Finance/Reconciliation Officer to play a key role in daily financial reconciliations, ensuring data accuracy across internal systems, partner accounts, and regulatory requirements. This role requires close collaboration with finance, IT, operations, and external partners to maintain financial integrity and transparency. Finance/Reconciliation Officer requires to work with Finance Manager in the finalization of financial reports related to Operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily reconciliation of e-money wallets, escrow/float accounts, and bank accounts.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between the core banking system, Las Pay accounting system, and e-wallet systems.
- Coordinate with IT and operations teams to ensure real-time integration of financial data.
- Coordinate with partner banks to ensure timely settlement and sufficient liquidity buffers.
- Maintain reconciliation logs and support audit trail maintenance.
- Reconcile inter-company or partner settlement accounts (e.g., MNOs, agents, PSPs).
- Ensure that float account balances match customer liabilities in line with DAB requirements.
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing liquidity and capital adequacy reports.
- Support in maintenance of adequate float and reserve balances.
- Assist with processing and recording of daily cash and bank transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries related to reconciled transactions.
- Assist in monthly closing activities and ensure reconciliations are finalized before closure.
- Contribute to financial reporting including cash flow statements, reconciliation summaries, and mismatch reports.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and policies.
- Assist in documentation for DAB inspections, audits, and internal reviews.
- Maintain up-to-date reconciliation procedures and documentation.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Education:
bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. (ACCA/CPA part-qualified is an advantage.) - Experience:
Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in reconciliation, finance, or banking operations (preferably within EMI, MSP, or Fintech sector). - Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Solid knowledge of reconciliation procedures, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
