Job Description:

Responsible for overall basic health center management in the field, reporting, planning OPD sessions and leading other team members (midwife, psychosocial & nutrition counselors and vaccinator) as per their job description.                                                                                                                                          
Make sure that all planned primary health care as per BPHS, sexual reproductive services, trauma care and other project interventions are executed and expected services are delivered to all target population within the catchment area.
Maintain required quality of care in terms of providing healthcare services to patients (consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and referral), health education/conducting awareness raising sessions and reporting.
Make sure that basic health centers healthcare services are delivered according to current medical practices, national guidelines/treatment protocols and organization policies/procedures (with main focus to privacy, internal control/accountability, humanitarian principles etc.).
Responsible for technical support and monitoring of basic health centers staff/ members’ activities and make sure that healthcare services are delivered as per relevant guidelines, standards and protocols.
Responsible to make sure that project resources are properly utilized in the field, quality of service delivery and data entry is maintained by all team members and close working coordination is maintained with local communities/stakeholders/elders. 
Responsible of regular updates and data entry of daily OPD/consultation in different HMIS/reporting tools/formats/registers according to MoPH/project needs and scope of work.  
Active participation in BHC related community-based activities, awareness raising sessions, meetings, and lead BHC colleagues’ coordination with local health committees/CDCs and other forums. 
Identify and report immediately any problems at community level that may interfere in achieving program objectives or need relevant management action. 
Participate in designing and implementation of on-the-job trainings for mobile health team staff as per project work plan and staff need for knowledge and skills development within scope of BHC.

The medical doctors is basically responsible for delivery of quality and on time out patient department (OPD) counseling services to all clients (male, female and children) visiting the clinic as per ministry of public health guidelines and treatment protocols including prescription of essential medicines, diagnostic tests and referrals of severe and complicated cases. 
He/she will be responsible for overall health facility management (planning, supervision, feedback, administrative issues and health facility operation related activities) and make sure all other services units like reproductive healthcare services by community midwife, public health nutrition services by nutrition counselors and nurse, psychosocial counseling by the counselors, immunization services by vaccinators and community-based healthcare services by community health supervisor and network of community health workers are delivered according to the relevant guidelines and with due quality of care to all clients without any delay or discrimination. 

The health facility doctor is official in-charge and holds the responsibility for on time reporting of the all activities and healthcare services including maintaining medical record, review and data quality with active involvement of other staff and on time correction measures. Regular practice of standard infection prevention and healthcare waste management by all staff within the health facility including availability of the required tools, guidelines and commodities remain his/her key responsibility. 

He/she is holds the responsibility to undertake formal or informal sessions required for the capacity building of the health facility staff and community health workers based on their needs/feedback and internal supervision or observations of daily activities and clients/community findings. He/she will also make sure that monthly health facility and health post based meetings are regularly organized, documented and reported as per plan. Organizing health education sessions for OPD clients remains one of the key function of the health facility facilitated by the doctor to ensure public awareness and promote preventive measures. 
 Maintain close working coordination with all staff within the health facility and regular communication with community health workers and local community elders (health facility and health posts Health Committee members. He/she will also maintain close working coordination with project supervisor and sub office for on-time supply of different items, commodities, reporting formats (medicines, consumables, kits, equipment, vaccines and health facility running cost/related items/supplies).

He/she will directly communicate any issue or conflict with local communities or stakeholders for support from the sub office and assigned project supervisor.
