AFGA has been working in the field of Reproductive health and Rights since its inception and has recently become an associate member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

AFGA activities were suspended due to war and conflict in the country for ten years (1992-2002) and resumed its activities in 2002 with financial support from International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).

Job Description:

Summary:

Under the supervision of the M&E Manager, the M&E Assistant (Post-Distribution Monitoring) will support the implementation of post-distribution monitoring (PDM) activities to assess the effectiveness, coverage, and impact of humanitarian distributions—specifically focusing on Emergency Reproductive Health (ERH) Kits, Dignity Kits, and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Kits. The role ensures high-quality data collection, timely reporting, and learning to improve program quality and accountability across targeted provinces. The M&E Assistant will be responsible for monitoring the timely distribution of kits to health facilities, assessing client satisfaction with the kits received, and compiling and submitting accurate, timely, qualitative, and quantitative reports to the M&E Manager for review and dissemination to donors and relevant stakeholders. Additionally, the M&E Assistant will play a key role in implementing the M&E plan under the UNFPA project, supporting field visits, data analysis, and reporting processes in collaboration with the M&E Manager.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Post-Distribution Monitoring (PDM) for various humanitarian items, including Emergency Reproductive Health (ERH) Kits, Dignity Kits, and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Kits, ensuring accurate capture of recipient feedback and usage patterns.
  • Collect data on beneficiary satisfaction, access to services, and utilization of distributed items to inform effective and efficient program implementation.
  • Support the preparation of PDM reports, summary tables, and visual data presentations for internal analysis and donor reporting.
  • Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders when conducting field visits to ensure transparency and community engagement.
  • Conduct field monitoring activities in alignment with AFGA’s checklists, tools, and procedures.
  • Work closely with program and logistics/supply chain teams during and after distributions to track delivery timelines and quality.
  • Ensure accurate recording, secure management, and proper preservation of M&E data in accessible systems.
  • Analyze and discuss monitoring findings with the M&E Manager and relevant program teams to support adaptive management.
  • Provide technical support and evidence-based recommendations to program teams to strengthen project implementation.
  • Maintain a proper record-keeping and filing system for PDM reports, supporting documentation, and evidence.
  • Assist the M&E Manager in designing, reviewing, and adapting PDM tools, plans, and methodologies as needed.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by the M&E Manager in support of the project’s monitoring and evaluation needs.

Job Requirements:

Qualification/Experience:

  • University degree or diploma in Monitoring & Evaluation, Social Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation, preferably with a focus on post-distribution monitoring and humanitarian response.
  • Prior experience working with NGOs or humanitarian organizations is highly desirable

Skills, Competencies & Desirable Attributes:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with MS Office.
  • Fluency in the local languages and working proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote field locations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
