About Committed Youth and Prosperous Society Organization:
Background
Committed Youth and Prosperous Society Organization (CYPSO) is a non-profit organization established in 2023, with a vision to create a peaceful, sustainable, and prosperous Afghanistan where young people and women are empowered to access education, social services, and economic opportunities, and to contribute to building a resilient and equitable society that is inclusive of all. CYPSO's mission to empower and develop Afghan youth and women by providing educational, economic, and social opportunities that enable them to become leaders and agents of positive change in their communities, and to work towards building a more prosperous and equitable society.
CYPSO was founded by a group of passionate individuals who recognized the need to empower the youth to lead and drive social change in their communities. The founders understood the significant challenges facing the youth, especially in addressing issues of climate change, unemployment, environmental degradation, and poverty.
CYPSO's core values are centered on creating solutions that promote sustainable development by aligning its work with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. The organization believes that youth empowerment is key to addressing the urgent challenges facing communities in the world today.
CYPSO's work in youth empowerment is anchored on four pillars: adaptation to climate change, environmental protection, education, and agriculture. These pillars are interwoven to ensure that young people are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to lead sustainable development practices in their communities.
CYPSO's approach to youth empowerment is multidimensional and focuses on advocacy, community outreach, development of sustainable practices, and partnership development. The organization works with young people, community-based groups, schools, and other stakeholders to implement its programs, which include environmental protection, sustainable agriculture, climate change adaptation, and education. The organization has also built strong partnerships with local organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders to advocate for policy changes and social norms that promote equal access to education, work, and economic opportunities for all Afghan citizens.
By empowering young people to take action on environmental issues using sustainable agriculture practices, CYPSO has created new opportunities for youth to be self-reliant and economically empowered. The organization has also worked to increase awareness of environmental issues and climate change, leading to the reduction of carbon footprints and the promotion of sustainable practices among communities.
Overall, CYPSO's work in empowering youth and promoting sustainable practices has been transformative. The organization's approach has helped young people develop essential skills and competencies that have enabled them to meaningfully participate in decision-making and communities' development. Through its youth-led initiatives, CYPSO has also promoted sustainable practices that support community resilience and prosperity.
