About French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children:
Since 2006, the French Medical Institute for Mothers and Children (FMIC) in Kabul, Afghanistan, has served patients from all 34 provinces. Job Description:
The ideal candidate would be able to:
- Purchase various general items based on approved Stock Purchase Requisitions (SPRs) and Purchase Requisitions (PRs) within the specified time frame, in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
- For non-recurring and high-value items (i.e., above AFN 12,500), conduct extensive market research to obtain at least three competitive quotations, and seek approval from the relevant Purchase Committee, supervisor, and concerned department head prior to order placement.
- Carry out offshore purchases by placing purchase orders and coordinating with freight forwarders and internal departments to ensure timely processing and shipment of goods.
- Prepare all Purchase Orders (POs) and maintain accurate and organized records of procurement activities.
- Coordinate with the Finance Department to ensure timely payment to all suppliers and service providers.
- Prepare the fortnightly report on purchases and work in progress assignments and submit it to the immediate supervisor.
- Ensure timely clearance of advance payments, particularly for international procurements, within the defined deadlines.
- Draft and manage quarterly or annual contracts with suppliers for recurring supply of consumables and other regular items.
- Carryout any other tasks as and when assigned by supervisor/department head.
