Position Overview
Due to external promotions, we are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to join our small, friendly finance team in our Kabul office
The Finance Officer is a critically important position aimed at strengthening financial management and control at the national level in Afghanistan. This role will ensure robust financial oversight, compliance with regulatory requirements, capacity development, as well as transparency and accountability for all our field operations. This will be a full-time office position within the organization in Kabul, but with frequent travel to project sites to strengthen partnerships with implementing partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the administration and maintain the financial compliance of project and office budgets, forecasts, expenditures, cash requests, staff allocation and revise financial reports as well as ensure partner compliance to donor and Caritas Germany financial procedures...
- Provide accounting and administrative support to the Finance Unit including financial auditing, compliance, and internal control processes.
- Ensure facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing to enhance partnership.

Job Requirements:
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance administration and management
Skills:
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel), WINPACCS is highly desirable.
● Strong communication (verbal and written), presentation, and training skills.
● Strong financial analytical skills and attention to detail in all financial processes.
● Ability to adapt and thrive in diverse cultural and operational environments.
● Fluency in English, Dari and/or Pashtu is required
