About ORCD:

Organization for Research & Community Development (ORCD) is a Non-governmental, Non-political, Non-profitable and independent organization founded in 2011 by a group of community development and research specialist. The aim of the organization is to contribute to the development of Afghanistan as an integral part of the international community. It envisages accomplishing its aims by building local capacities, generating evidence in various disciplines, promoting evidence-based on best practices and implementing development projects aimed at community development at the grass root level. ORCD is a multi-donor funded NGO, implementing health, agriculture and community development projects in several provinces of the country.

Job Description:

  • Acts according to the policy of ORCD.
  • Acts according to the organization established guides, regulations, and policies.
  • Keeps confidential with issues related to ORCD.
  • Develops Spirit of cooperation and understanding among members of the team.
  • Compiles, analyzes, and interprets health data and highlights discrepancies and mistakes in the health data format, data tables and data entry processes.
  • Performs data cleaning process.
  • In co-operation with the program manager oversees the planning and ongoing trainings related to HMIS.
  • Conducts initial & refresher HMIS trainings and provides on-job trainings to the relevant project staff.
  • Review the HMIS data of the monthly/quarterly reports of BPHS/Health Emergency Response Project and provides regular feedbacks to the provincial teams.
  • Provides supports to the project and program staff in HMIS related tasks (e.g., data collection, analysis, and use of health information.).
  • Assist the program department in preparation of monthly updates, facility monthly reports (FMRs) and technical quarterly reports of Health Emergency Response Project.
  • Provides supports to the program department in preparation of end of project reports.
  • Produces HMIS monthly, quarterly, and annual progress reports.
  • Maintains proper records of the HMIS related documents.
  • Provides required technical assistances to the program department in conducting the CAAC survey.
  • Supervise the HMIS activities at clinics and community level according to the plan.
  • Assist the PME unit in HMIS data verification process.
  • Assists the PME unit preparation of the organizational annual report.
  • Provide assistance to the management by providing required HMIS data during the proposals writing process.
  • Maintains close –working relations with stakeholders (MoPH, NGOs and UN agencies as well others involved in HMIS), in consultation with program director.
  • Studies the current reporting formats and contribute to the design of new reporting tools according to the needs of projects.
  • Actively attends the relevant coordination meetings/workshops and Task force/Working Group outside and inside the organization.
  • Performs any other related duties/task as assign by the line supervisor

Job Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree in statistics Similar, or Medical Degree and 10 years of experience with health data management and analysis.
  2. Should be familiar with the health system and standards for provision of primary and secondary health care services (BPHS and EPHS) in Afghanistan.
