Job Description:

The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and successful implementation of the project titled "Economic Empowerment through Local Dairy Production" in Kunduz province. The role requires efficient management of the project team, resources, and stakeholder engagement to ensure timely delivery of all planned activities and achievement of project goals.

Job Requirements:

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all project activities in Kunduz.

  • Supervise the project team and ensure effective coordination across departments (technical, finance, M&E).

  • Develop detailed monthly and quarterly work plans and ensure timely implementation.

  • Ensure efficient use of financial, human, and technical resources.

  • Establish and maintain close coordination with local communities, councils, government authorities, and implementation partners.

  • Oversee training sessions for local dairy producers and follow up on the adoption of knowledge and techniques.

  • Facilitate the processing, packaging, and marketing of local dairy products.

  • Identify potential risks and challenges and provide practical solutions.

  • Implement robust monitoring and evaluation systems to measure project performance and impact.

  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely narrative and financial reports to the management and donor.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, Economics, Management, or any related field (Master’s degree is an asset).

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management, preferably in livelihoods, dairy, or agricultural sectors.

  • Solid understanding of donor regulations and implementation procedures (e.g., UN, USAID, EU).

  • Strong leadership and team management skills with problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent reporting skills, both narrative and financial.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Fluency in Dari and Pashto; English proficiency is an asset.
