About AYSO:

Afghan Youth Services Organization (AYSO) is a National Afghan NGO registered in 2006 with the MoEc of Afghanistan with registration No:397.AYSO since came into being has developed, successfully implemented, and provided direct assistance services in different   sectors such as health, educational, Food Security,  Capacity building, GBV Prevention and Response, Peace, Justice Research, and Surveys human rights and awareness projects and programs with the technical and financial support of several UN Agencies such as UNDP,UNFPA, UNICEF, WFP, and WHO, AYSO has implemented projects with government ministries and departments as well as has been being implementing partner with AAH/USAID, FHI, BARC, AADA,HEWAD, and other National and International Organization

Job Description:

  • Guide the pharmacy technical team at central and provincial level.
  • Represent AYSO to donor and relevant stakeholders during meeting and workshop.
  • Assist line manager in proposal writing.
  • Conduct the on the job training on FEFO, FIFO, MDS and RUD related issues to subordinates.
  • Conduct supervisory visits from the provincial offices, health facilities and pharmacy stocks.
  • Analyze and evaluate pharmacy request  data and consumption reports
  • Proper pharmacy department record keeping of the projects at central level and make sure the same system is applied in the provincial level.
  • Performs supervisory visit from Health Facilities at least one mission per month.
  • Responsible for planning, implementation of  the pharmaceutical activities
  • Together with the logistic department hand over all medicine supply and medical equipment and check for their accuracy.
  • Conduct training for the pharmacist of the provincial level and health facilities.
  • Identify and report problems that interferes the delivery of services
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy unit including drug dispensing, stock handling, and storage conditions.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate supply of medicines to departments and health facilities.
  • Maintain proper documentation of pharmaceutical transactions and patient records, where applicable.
  • Prepare forecasts and procurement plans based on consumption trends and project needs.
  • Coordinate procurement of pharmaceuticals in compliance with organizational and donor policies.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and stock control using stock cards or pharmacy software.
  • Monitor drug expiry dates and conduct regular physical inventories.
  • Ensure medicines are stored under proper conditions (temperature, humidity, safety).
  • Ensure compliance with national drug policies, pharmacy law, and WHO Good Storage and Distribution Practices (GSDP).
  • Ensure all pharmaceuticals are sourced from authorized suppliers with proper quality certifications.
  • Promote rational use of medicines by training clinical and pharmacy staff.
  • Develop and disseminate standard treatment guidelines and essential drug lists.
  • Support clinical teams in pharmacovigilance and monitoring adverse drug reactions

Job Requirements:

A minimum of five years of professional experience, with a preference for candidates who have experience in quality assurance activities related to pharmaceutical procurement
