Job Description:

  • Identify women entrepreneurs requiring financial literacy training
  • Develop modules for training
  • Conduct financial literacy/numeracy training
  • Maintain a strong relationship with the project stakeholders
  • Link the women entrepreneurs to the local markets
  • Encourage engagement in community-led initiatives and social projects.
  • Link VSLAs with relevant stakeholders (government programs, NGOs, UN agencies) for further support.
  • Organizing VSLA groups and taking responsibility for the progress of lessons
  • Provide effective teaching in basic literacy and numeracy to the women entrepreneurs.
  • Implement business–centered teaching methods and diverse teaching techniques to engage women entrepreneurs.
  • Maintain a safe and effective teaching/learning environment during the sessions in all VSLA groups.
  • Enhance communication with women entrepreneurs through proper communication channels.
  • Prepare teaching handouts and activity sheets before sessions where appropriate.
  • Assess women entrepreneurs’ learning progress using assessment tools at the beginning of the sessions' implementation.
  • Maintain discipline while motivating women entrepreneurs and facilitating their development to meet agreed-upon targets
  • Develop regular reports from the literacy and numeracy activity
  • Build and maintain cooperative relationships with VSLA group members
  • Develop case studies/ success stories between the groups.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the project manager

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education/Economy
  • Experience in training/teaching literacy and numeracy, and arithmetic.
  • Solid experience in conducting training.
  • Experience in business development projects
  • Experience working with international NGOs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Microsoft Office Package skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
