About Turquoise Mountain:

Background 

Turquoise Mountain is a non-profit, non-governmental organization specializing in urban regeneration, business development, and education in traditional arts and architecture. We seek to provide jobs, skills, and a renewed sense of national pride to Afghan men and women. Since 2006 Turquoise Mountain has cleared 35,000 cubic meters of rubbish from the streets, restored or built 150 historic and community buildings, created a primary school and a clinic, and installed water, electricity and sanitation through the historic traditional craft neighborhood of Murad Khani in the old city of Kabul. It has created the internationally accredited Institute for Afghan Arts & Architecture, training the next generation of craftsmen and women in woodwork, jewelry and gem cutting, calligraphy and miniature painting, and ceramics. Finally, it has sold over US$ 7,000,000 of Afghan artisan products internationally.

Context

This project is aimed to conduct an assessment for the damaged part of front view of Murad Khani for the future plan and some maintenance for the TM Compound at Murad Khani.

Job Description:

Job Summary

The job holder will assist the National Architect in conducting site surveys, preparing draft architectural drawings, maintaining project files, and supporting the development of documentation for all stages of heritage building projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist to conduct architectural tasks such as site surveys and sketching as required
  •  Assist to prepare draft architectural drawings for review and feedback by the Architect.
  • Assist with writing and illustrating various documents for presenting building projects.
  •  Assist in maintaining computer systems, including drawings and file structures.
  • Support the National Architect in producing drawings for all stages of heritage projects.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Graduated from a recognized university, architectural faculty.
  • Relevant Work Experience will be Preferred
  • Understanding of the Ms. Office Word, Excell and Power Point.
  • Understanding of Auto CAD and Sketch Up.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
