Job Description:
Objectives of the Position:
- To ensure compliance with safeguarding and protection policies across all levels of the organization.
- To raise awareness and build the capacity of staff on safeguarding issues.
- To respond effectively to safeguarding and protection concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Safeguarding Support
- Support the implementation of the organization’s safeguarding and protection policies.
- Assist in organizing training sessions and awareness programs on safeguarding for staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries.
- Help ensure that safeguarding measures are integrated into all program activities.
- Maintain confidential safeguarding records and documentation.
- Attend and participate in all coordination meetings regarding the project.
- Maintain effective and proper communication with all staff and related organizations.
Reporting and Monitoring
- Receive, document, and report safeguarding concerns following the organization's reporting procedures.
- Monitor safeguarding compliance across activities and report any gaps or risks to the related position.
- Assist in maintaining a confidential case management system for safeguarding reports.
Capacity Building
- Distribute safeguarding materials, posters, or messages to staff and community members.
- Support the organization of training sessions, workshops, and refresher courses.
- Help conduct awareness sessions for beneficiaries, children, or vulnerable groups.
Coordination:
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach to safeguarding and protection.
- Represent the organization in relevant forums and networks on safeguarding and protection.

Key Deliverables:
- Safeguarding and protection policies implemented and monitored effectively.
- Regular safeguarding training and awareness sessions conducted.
- Timely and effective resolution of safeguarding and protection concerns.
- Reports on safeguarding activities, incidents, and progress.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Work closely with program teams, HR, and partners to ensure safeguarding standards are met.
- Attend internal safeguarding meetings and take minutes as required.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders and partners to strengthen safeguarding mechanisms.
- To work as a focal point for better and on-time reporting.
Administrative Support
- Assist in maintaining safeguarding-related records, reports, and databases.
- Provide logistical support for safeguarding activities, such as training and field visits if needed.
- Prepare basic reports and updates on safeguarding activities as requested.
- Translate project-related documents, field reports from English to Dari/Pashto and vice versa if needed.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology, Human Rights, Law, Public Administration or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in safeguarding or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of international safeguarding standards and local protection laws.
- Proven experience in incident management, reporting, and investigation.
- Excellent communication and training facilitation skills.
