Job Description:
Job Summary
The General Manager mHawala is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the strategic vision of the mobile money division. This role oversees all operations, business growth initiatives, product development, regulatory compliance, and customer engagement related to mobile financial services. The successful candidate will drive innovation, ensure operational excellence, and expand market presence to achieve the company's financial and strategic objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic plan for the mobile money business aligned with organizational goals. Identify growth opportunities and innovative approaches to enhance service delivery.
- Business Development: Drive customer acquisition, retention, and revenue growth by expanding mobile money services across target markets. Foster partnerships with financial institutions, microfinance institutions, telecom operators, and other stakeholders.
- Product & Service Management: Oversee the development, deployment, and optimization of mobile money products and services. Ensure offerings meet customer needs and regulatory standards.
- Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations, including transaction processing, agent networks, customer support, compliance, and risk management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant financial, telecommunications, and data protection regulations. Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies.
- Team Leadership: Build, motivate, and manage a high-performance team. Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and customer centricity.
- Financial Management: Develop budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure profitability. Implement cost-control and efficiency measures.
- Technology & Infrastructure: Oversee the deployment and management of core technology platforms, ensuring system security, reliability, and scalability.
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Monitor industry trends, competitors, and customer feedback. Provide regular reports on performance, challenges, and opportunities.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience (in case of master's degree) and 12 years (in case of bachelor's degree in software development/database development) in mobile money, digital banking, FinTech, or related financial services sector.
- Proven leadership experience in managing large teams and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of mobile financial services, telecommunications, and regulatory environments.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic partnerships and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with financial management, business analytics, and technology platforms.
- Passion for financial inclusion and innovative financial solutions.
- Proven track record of scaling mobile financial services.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
