Amiri Medical Complex (AMC) is a private hospital incorporated under the government of Afghanistan with license numbers D-26055 and 6019. It operates in accordance with and is subject to the laws of Afghanistan. The facility is located in the Afghan Red Crescent Society, Afshar, Qargha Road, in a green and calm environment. Its inauguration was graced by Afghanistan’s former president, His Excellency Mr. Hamid Karzai. Since its establishment, AMC has been dedicated to providing essential services to a segment of the population that has long been neglected and underserved.

AMC is Afghanistan’s foremost reliable, member of the International Hospital Federation (IHF) and is accredited by the European Association of Preventive Cardiology. It operates as a tertiary-care facility with 129 beds, specializing in cardiac care and various other medical sub-specialties. The Role

Senior Officer – IT will be responsible for overseeing the hospital's IT infrastructure, networks, and servers to ensure seamless workflow. The incumbent will manage software and hardware systems, troubleshoot technical issues, support staff with IT solutions, maintain data integrity, and implement IT policies and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent will lead the IT team, coordinate system upgrades, enforce data protection protocols, enhance system efficiency, and ensure compliance with AMC regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the hospital’s IT infrastructure, servers, and networks, installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Ensure high availability, security, and performance of IT infrastructure.
• Administer and perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal IT equipment functionality.
• Monitor and secure the hospital’s network to prevent cyber threats.
• Lead the IT support team to provide timely troubleshooting and technical support to hospital staff.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for handling user queries and system issues.
• Oversee hospital databases and ensure data integrity, backup, and recovery.
• Support data analytics, reporting, and Business Intelligence tools for hospital management.
• Liaise with IT vendors, service providers, and contractors for system upgrades and maintenance.
• Develop, implement, and enforce hospital IT policies and carry out training sessions on new software, and IT policies
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all IT equipment, including procurement, disposal, and lifecycle management.
• Respond promptly to equipment failures or emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure patient safety.
• Develop and implement contingency plans for critical IT equipment failures.
• Ensure all IT equipment supports high-quality patient care and safety.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to hospital technology strategy.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and standards of care, including accurate IT documentation and adherence to patient safety protocols.
• Coordinate with other hospital departments and staff members to address patient needs and ensure effective communication and workflow across the hospital.
• Escalate any alarming complaint/issue to the immediate supervisor.
• Undertake any other duty assigned by the immediate superior.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institute/university, attested by relevant institutions of Afghanistan.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Cisco CCNA, or ITIL are advantageous.
• At least three years of experience in Senior IT Officer level.
