Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

ORD seeks a dynamic and talented Program Assistant who will be responsible for supporting the planning, implementation, and reporting of program activities across the ORD thematic areas. Working under the supervision of the Program Manager, he/she will contribute to the smooth execution of ORD’s projects by providing both technical and administrative support, while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and donor requirements.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the effective planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of program activities in alignment with project objectives.
  • Assist in coordinating and tracking of program activities based on approved work plans and timelines.
  • Ensure timely communication and coordination between team members, filed, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and events, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and management logistical arrangements.
  • Record and manage program-related data accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintaining organized and up-to-date records and documentation for program-related activities.
  • Regularly update program files, databases, and activity trackers to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of new project concepts and proposals, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor progress against project work plans and identify potential delays or challenges.
  • Liaise effectively with government line departments, contractors, beneficiaries, and internal teams to ensure smooth communication.
  • Respond to routine inquiries and provide relevant project information as needed.
  • Collect, compile, and verify data for progress reports, monitoring, and evaluation purposes.
  • Support data entry, analysis, and maintenance of program-related records and databases.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Agriculture, Engineering, or Management with proven experience working with NGOs or UN agencies is required. Applicants with a master's degree are preferred.
  • Fluency in English, with strong proficiency in both Dari and Pashto.
  • Demonstrated commitment, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Willingness ability to travel to project sites across all regions of Afghanistan where ORD operates.
  • Strong ability to communicate ideas and concepts clearly and concisely in both written and oral form.
  • Personal integrity, intuitive, and self-motivation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant project management tools.
