Job Description:

The wool spinning trainer is responsible to provide modern wool spinning training using wood made wool spinning wheel to 20 female IDPs, returnees and host community in PD#21 OF Kabul Province. Considering the long-term impact, the trainer shall enhance the capacity of the beneficiaries of the livelihood program, funded by the UNHCR, so that they maintain the activities beyond the project implementation period.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Introduction of un-spun wool to trainees considering the quality, color and origin of supply.
  • Description of economic importance of spun wool and usages.
  • Introduction of wool spinning hand-wheel to the trainees plus function.
  • Preparation of wool and processing steps (i.e., value chain process)
  • The trainer shall train all wool spinning processes properly to the participants.
  • Spun and un-spun quality check methodology shall be trained to beneficiaries by the trainer.
  • The vocational skills trainer must make sure all participants are aware of health and safety requirement during practical assignments.
  • Regular practical assignment and quality check.

Job Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Vocational training or certification in wool spinning, textile production, or related fields is an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience in wool spinning using traditional or modern techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and in coordination with project teams.
  • Patience, flexibility, and cultural sensitivity.

  • Basic understanding of English is an asset but not required.
