Job Description:

  • Ensure strategic alignment of the training plan with project goals and objectives.
  • Conduct training sessions on business plan development for the beneficiaries of the project.
  • Deliver orientation training to trainers and provide guidance on applying new skills to reinforce their capabilities.
  • Develop comprehensive training materials, including training manuals, presentations, posters, brochures, leaflets, and other necessary materials.
  • Create engaging presentations on topics such as the purpose of beekeeping, the value of pollination, successful beekeeping practices, environmental factors for bee culture, starting beekeeping, hive management, bee tools, bee species, artificial nutrition, colony multiplication, honey production, honey harvesting, other bee products, and identification and management of common pests and diseases, as well as winter management.
  • Evaluate training programs to ensure they meet organizational needs and improve performance.
  • Facilitate learning through various delivery methods, including classroom instruction, virtual training, on-the-job coaching, and practical hands-on honeybee exercises.
  • Facilitation of their linkage to the Beekeeping Cooperatives.
  • Provision of financial literacy training.
  • Supporting the development of market linkages (through exhibitions and other support).
  • Ascertaining service needs and mapping the relevant service ecosystem to help expand the business.
  • Facilitate referrals for further support, where opportunities for referral are identified.
  • Conduct an overall impact assessment and collect impact stories to aid donor reporting.

Job Requirements:

  • University degree in animal husbandry, agriculture, horticulture, extension, or veterinary sciences.
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in modern and/or traditional beekeeping practices, including hive management, honey extraction, feeding, seasonal care, and disease control.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with program staff at all levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team and with staff of diverse backgrounds.
  • In-depth knowledge of practical and theoretical aspects of beekeeping.
  • Familiarity with the cultural language of the district.
  • Proven capacity to effectively manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to the role.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Pashto, Dari and English is required.
