Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Field Monitor is responsible for supporting the effective monitoring of project implementation through field visits, data collection, and reporting. This role ensures that program activities are progressing according to plan, supports assessments, and contributes to maintaining the quality and accountability of humanitarian assistance. The Field Monitor works closely with project teams, local stakeholders, and community members to collect accurate information, identify challenges, and provide feedback for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitoring & Evaluation
• Conduct regular field monitoring visits to project sites and assess the progress of activities.
• Monitor the implementation of WFP-supported interventions and provide timely feedback and recommendations.
• Assist in conducting assessments in accordance with work plans and schedules provided by the A4T office and Project Manager.
• Evaluate both quantitative and qualitative data to ensure accuracy and integrity.
• Support data collection processes as per M&E tools and formats developed by the project team.
Reporting & Documentation
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly monitoring reports, summarizing key findings, challenges, and recommendations.
• Document issues identified during field visits and coordinate with the Project Manager to follow up.
• Maintain records of site visits and interviews with beneficiaries and stakeholders.
Coordination & Support
• Identify and prioritize individuals or groups for interviews, beneficiary selection, or follow-up.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to align and prioritize daily monitoring activities.
• Coordinate with local partners, community members, and authorities to facilitate field work.
• Support the resolution of issues by engaging local stakeholders and referring concerns appropriately.
Other Duties
• Maintain regular communication with project staff and community representatives.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Project Manager in support of monitoring and field operations.

Qualifications and Competencies:
Education:
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Humanitarian Studies, Social Sciences, Project management or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in monitoring, field assessments, or humanitarian program implementation.
• Previous experience working with WFP projects or similar humanitarian interventions is an advantage.
Technical Skills:
• Basic knowledge of monitoring and evaluation tools and techniques.
• Ability to collect and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data.
• Proficiency in using mobile data collection tools (e.g., Kobo) is a plus.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• Fluency in local languages; basic English proficiency preferred.
• Ability to interact respectfully with community members, partners, and authorities.
Other Requirements:
• Willingness to travel frequently to remote field locations.
• Commitment to humanitarian values, data accuracy, and accountability.
