Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Beneficiary Verification Assistant supports the verification of beneficiary identities and eligibility for food assistance and other humanitarian services. This role helps ensure the accuracy, transparency, and integrity of the registration and distribution processes. The assistant works closely with field teams to review documentation, cross-check data, and report discrepancies, contributing to effective and accountable program delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Verification Activities
• Verify the identities of beneficiaries using appropriate documentation and verification tools.
• Ensure that all beneficiaries meet the eligibility criteria for receiving food assistance.
• Conduct on-site verification during distributions to confirm beneficiary attendance and accuracy.
• Cross-check beneficiary data with existing records to prevent duplication or fraud.
• Identify and report any discrepancies or irregularities in beneficiary data.
Data Management & Reporting
• Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records of all verified beneficiaries.
• Safeguard the confidentiality and security of sensitive beneficiary data.
• Submit regular reports on verification findings to the Project Manager.
• Collect data on verification activities to support analysis, planning, and decision-making.
Team Coordination & Communication
• Assist beneficiaries in understanding the verification process and required documentation.
• Communicate results of verification to supervisors and flag any issues requiring escalation.
• Provide suggestions for improving verification tools, processes, and protocols.
• Coordinate closely with the registration and distribution teams for aligned implementation.

Qualifications and Competencies:
Education:
• High School Graduate or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
• 1–2 years of experience in beneficiary registration, verification, or similar humanitarian roles.
• Prior experience working with food distribution programs or WFP-supported projects is an asset.
Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with data verification and documentation review procedures.
• Basic computer skills and experience with digital tools for data entry.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
• Good communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to beneficiaries.
• Ability to work respectfully and effectively with diverse communities.
• Fluency in local languages; basic proficiency in English preferred.
Other Requirements:
• Willingness to travel to field sites and distribution locations.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and commitment to humanitarian principles.
