Job Description:
We are seeking a visionary and strategic Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our financial services/digital payments company through its next phase of growth and innovation. The CEO will be responsible for defining and executing the company's strategic vision, building and leading a high-performing team, and ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and financial sustainability. This role requires a deep understanding of the fintech ecosystem, regulatory environment, and digital financial products.
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement long-term business strategies aligned with the company's mission and market opportunities.
Drive innovation in digital payment solutions, financial inclusion, and customer experience.
Identify new business opportunities, markets, and strategic partnerships.
Operational Management
Oversee daily operations to ensure efficiency, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
Lead product development and service delivery, ensuring seamless, secure, and user-friendly digital payment experiences.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all departments.
Team Leadership & Culture
Build, manage, and motivate a strong leadership team across departments (e.g., product, compliance, finance, tech, marketing).
Foster a high-performance, ethical, and inclusive workplace culture.
Regulatory & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, AML/CFT policies, and data protection laws (local and international).
Liaise with central banks, financial regulators, and relevant government agencies.
Financial Stewardship
Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and reporting to ensure sustainable growth and profitability.
Lead fundraising efforts (equity, debt, grants) and investor relations.
Stakeholder Engagement
Represent the company to shareholders, investors, partners, media, and customers.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with banks, telecoms, fintech ecosystems, and strategic vendors.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Minimum 10 years of leadership experience in fintech, banking, or digital payments, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role.
Demonstrated track record of scaling technology-driven financial products or services.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
Deep knowledge of digital payments, mobile money, and financial services infrastructure.
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as Payment Institution Licensing, AML/KYC, and risk management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for financial innovation and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience operating in emerging markets or high-growth environments.
Proven ability to lead digital transformation or product innovation in financial services.
Experience in working with or building early-stage fintech or digital wallet platforms.
