Job Description:
To supervise and execute the mechanical construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the Gas Pressure Regulating and Metering Skid (GPRMS) as per approved designs, codes, and safety standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Installation Planning & Supervision
- Review and interpret GPRMS design documents, P&IDs, piping isometrics, and layout drawings.
- Prepare method statements and installation procedures for piping and equipment of the skid.
- Plan site activities related to mechanical and piping works, ensuring resources and tools are available.
- Supervise the assembly, alignment, and installation of piping, valves, filters, pressure regulators, flow meters, and instrumentation.
2. Quality and Compliance
- Ensure all installation activities comply with relevant codes (ASME B31.3, B31.8), company specifications, and ILF design documentation.
- Conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and ensure pipe supports, hangers, and anchors are correctly installed.
- Coordinate non-destructive testing (NDT), pressure/leak tests, and flushing/purging operations.
3. Coordination and Site Management
- Liaise with civil, instrumentation, and electrical teams to ensure smooth integration of GPRMS systems.
- Coordinate with Ministry of Mine and Petroleum (MoMP) of Afghanistan (or their representative) for technical clarifications and change management.
- Participate in daily/weekly coordination meetings and progress reporting.
4. Safety and Risk Management
- Ensure all mechanical construction activities are performed in compliance with safety procedures and risk mitigation plans.
- Conduct toolbox talks and supervise work to enforce safe practices on-site.
5. Documentation and Handover
- Prepare redline/as-built drawings and ensure proper documentation for all mechanical works.
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing activities.
- Assist in preparing O&M manuals, training site operators if required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in oil & gas piping projects, especially in skid-mounted systems.
- Proven experience in pressure regulating systems and metering skids.
- Familiar with international codes (ASME, API, ISO) and gas safety regulations.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, piping software, and MS Office tools.
- Strong leadership, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Dari/Pashto is an advantage.
